Detox Bath

Creating alone time to unwind and de-stress can be tough. Balancing family, work and other obligations leaves little time to “indulge” in self-care. Self-care should not have to be an indulgence, it should get to be a habit.

It is vital to remember that our bodies and minds need time to rest and rid themselves of harmful toxins that build up with our daily living. Toxins are poisonous substances that can negatively affect our health. We expose ourselves to toxins on a daily basis, from sources like pollution, processed foods, and pesticides. When we do not release these toxins, it is reflected in our health and the way we feel throughout the day.

While there are many ways to detoxify your body, one of the easiest is through a detox bath. The best part? They are extremely easy to make at home. You will get all the benefits you would find in a high-end spa bath at a fraction of the price, in the comfort of your own home.

Using essential oils, which provide antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory benefits, along with common household items like Epsom Salts can help flush impurities from the body by allowing it to sweat out toxins.

Ready to try your own detox bath? Try this recipes and help your body get back into tip-top shape in no time. I recommend doing a bath for about 40 minutes to an hour for best results. The first 20 minutes will give your body time to remove toxins from your system while the last 20 to 40 minutes will allow you to absorb the minerals in the water and help you emerge from the bath feeling rejuvenated. Make sure to use the hottest water you can handle — it’ll help you sweat out impurities. That is why I am such a fan of detox baths.

Special Bonus: Make a homemade present out of the recipe.
Store the ingredients in a mason jar, add a personalized label, and give to family and friends for a homemade gift they will love!

Detox Bath recipe

1 Lemon (sliced)
Use the lemon that was in Detox Water for the bath.

*Detox Water is a GREAT way to stay hydrated during your cleanse (or anytime)

Soak for no less than 20 minutes unless you feel lightheaded, it is important to bring plenty of water and even a small protein snack if necessary. Do not take a detox bath if under the influence of alcohol or other drugs including heavy medicines, if you have any questions consult your health provider.
